Questions
Is the app really free for singers?
Yes, and it stays that way. Reading songs, chords, transposing, translations, transliterations, offline libraries and the Bible reader are all free for individuals. We never paywall the reading experience — it would betray the principle the whole product is built on.
What exactly do organizations pay for?
Scale. Live events are free for small gatherings — up to 25 members, one event live at a time. You pay to grow: more members and attendees, several events running at once, opening events to non-members by code or QR, custom songbooks, and geo-fenced venue push. The expensive part is the synchronous fan-out to hundreds or thousands of devices, so that's where the line sits.
How does billing work?
Per organization, by member bracket, at a fixed monthly or annual price — not metered, so your bill never surprises you. Annual is billed for 10 months, so two are free. You can subscribe here or from Vercast Studio on iPad, whichever suits. You are charged in your own currency — we set prices in Canadian dollars and show the local amount wherever we have one, matching what the App Store charges.
Can we subscribe from the iPad app?
Yes. Vercast Studio, the free operator console for iPad, sells the same organization plans through the App Store, so an administrator can upgrade from the desk without opening a browser. The plan belongs to the organization either way, and every member gets the benefit. One difference worth knowing: a subscription bought through the App Store is managed and cancelled in your Apple ID settings, not by us and not by deleting the organization — open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
What happens if we outgrow a bracket?
Move up a bracket whenever you need to. Beyond 3,000 members, talk to us and we'll work something out.
Can I run more than one organization?
A free account can create one organization. Once you have a paid organization, your account can create up to three. Deleting one frees a slot.
What's the difference between Pro and Enterprise?
Pro runs live events for approved members, who join from the app's Live tab — there's no code to hand out. Enterprise adds people who aren't members, joining a specific event by code or QR at the door, plus custom per-event songbooks and geo-fenced venue push: attach a venue to an event and members get a "you're at the venue — tap to join" notification on arrival. That check happens entirely on their device — we never receive anyone's location.
