Ask: questions from the room

Collect questions, approve them, and put one on screen at a time.

People send in questions, and nothing reaches the screen until you put it there.

Setting it up

  • Questions are: Anonymous, Named (username shown), or Questioner decides — each person chooses as they ask. A new Ask starts on Questioner decides.
  • Questions per person: no limit, or 1, 2, 3 or 5. A new Ask starts at 2. Once someone has asked theirs, the box to ask goes away.
  • Let people withdraw a question waiting for approval. Once you approve it, only you can remove it, and a withdrawn question still counts toward the limit.
  • Mark questions with bullets, numbers or letters, in the order they go on screen — numbers to start with.

Running it

The console has three lists. Incoming: Approve or Dismiss. Approved questions wait in the Queue, which only you see, until you Publish one. On everyone's screen: the published questions, newest first, with the latest in focus as NOW.

Publishing the next question marks the one before it answered, tinted so the room can tell. You can also Mark answered or Dismiss one yourself.

Your own questions go into the queue too, with Add to the queue — and you can post them anonymously.
