Activities

Activities

Bible quizzes, polls, games and Q&A you run from your phone.

The Activities tab in the Vercast app is where anyone signed in can start something quick for a room — a Bible quiz, a poll, a game — run it from their own phone, and share it with a code. It needs no organization and no event.

Seven kinds

  • Quiz — Bible questions from the Vercast quiz library, with a leaderboard. Single player or multiplayer.
  • Poll — one question, a few choices, live results.
  • Randomizer — people join with a name; you spin to pick one.
  • Ask — questions from the room, approved by you before anyone sees them.
  • Word puzzle — a crossword or fill-the-blanks from Bible questions. Single player or multiplayer.
  • Draw & guess — take turns sketching a Bible word while everyone else guesses.
  • Word scramble — put a Bible word's shuffled letters back in order; the fastest wins. Single player or multiplayer.

Starting one

Tap + and choose a kind. Each asks a few questions first, then gives you a share page with its code, a QR code and a link. Its console has your controls — start, next, close, spin and the rest.

Turn on Join the activity to take part yourself: you get the same screen as everyone else, with your controls alongside.

An activity closes by itself after 24 hours, or when you end it. You and everyone who joined can still open it from the tab afterwards.

Joining one

  • Type its code under Join an activity, then its passcode if it has one. A passcode is digits only.
  • Scan its QR code, with Scan QR code in the tab or with your camera. You are in at once, with no passcode.
  • Tap Find nearby to see the activities being shared over Bluetooth near you. These skip the passcode too. The creator turns this on with Share nearby on the share page.
  • Open a link someone sent you. Without the app, it takes you to your app store.

The QR code and Share nearby are for people in the room. The QR code renews itself while the share page is open, so a photo of it passed on stops working within a couple of minutes.

People and reports

  • People: the creator sees who has joined and can remove anyone — they leave at once and can't join that activity again. Draw & guess shows the lobby with Remove before the game starts.
  • Report: anyone in an activity can report an offensive drawing, name or message, harassment or spam. It goes to the Vercast team with the activity's code; the host isn't told who reported it.

Results

Let participants see the results decides whether the people who joined see how it came out. You can change your mind later, even after it has ended, from the results page. A randomizer always shows its picks.

How many can join

On the free plan, up to 12 people can join each activity you create, not counting you. A Starter plan raises that — see Starter plans.
